Abstract. The study aims to build a philosophical model showing historical dynamics of relationship between consciousness structures and personality structure. The work contrasted ideas of the European metaphysics of the XIX-XX centuries, data of the Russian and foreign consciousness theories, psycho-philosophical elements of the personality structure concept. The study is novel in that this is practically the first time when stating the issue in such a way has allowed the researcher to identify the most significant factors hampering formation of a system of the man’s existential meanings and influencing such social institutions as law, education and religion. A model, built as a result of the research, gives an opportunity to interpret the notion of "spiritual freedom" in the context of the "designative" concept of the system of personal meanings.
