Problem of the Russian Civilizational Identity in Philosophy of Classical Eurasianism and in A. S. Panarin’s Philosophy of Neo-Eurasianism

Abstract. The article reveals specificity of understanding the Russian civilizational identity in the philosophy of classical Eurasianism and in A. S. Panarin’s philosophy of neo-Eurasianism. The geographical factor is considered as a key one in development of the Russian civilization; it is shown that the Russian civilization is based on co-existence of the Turanian and Slavonic elements. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that the researcher proposes a systemic approach to studying the Russian civilizational identity within the framework of the Russian philosophical tradition, which allows identifying continuity of conceptions of Russia’s civilizational status in the classical Eurasianists’ philosophy and in the neo-Eurasian philosophy. The research findings are as follows: the author reveals sociocultural and geopolitical aspects of A. S. Panarin’s neo-Eurasian doctrine.
