Specificity of Health Care Development in the Gorny Altai Autonomous Region in 1965-1985

Abstract. The research objective includes identifying specificity of health care development in the Gorny Altai Autonomous Region in 1965-1985. The article provides a survey of health care development in the Gorny Altai Autonomous Region in 1965-1985, describes regional factors that influenced the healthcare situation in the mentioned period. Increases in healthcare financing are analysed and peculiarities of health care development in the periods of 1965-1975 and 1975-1985 are revealed. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the researchers introduce documents and statistical materials from regional archives into scientific circulation, examine the problem of health care development against the background of socio-economic changes in 1965-1985. The research findings are as follows: the paper identifies the basic trends in organizing medical-sanitary services, in staff policy, analyses morbidity, mortality and natality.
