"Polish Issue" in Russia’s Policy in the First World War Period (1914-1918)

Abstract. The article analyses Russia’s approaches to the "Polish issue" in the First World War period. The author examines prerequisites for Poland creation, describes Russia’s position concerning the establishment of the Polish state. The conclusion is made that at the initial stage of the war, the "Polish issue" did not play an essential role in the Russian Empire’s policy. However, after the February Revolution, the Polish problem became an international issue and the western powers managed to create the Polish state.
