PROBLEM OF CHOOSING THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT IN WHITE PRIMORYE IN JUNE-AUGUST 1922: BETWEEN MONARCHY, DIRECTORATE AND DICTATORSHIP (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE PRINT MEDIA)

Abstract. The article analyses political discussions held in the last bastion of the White movement - the Provisional Primorye Government - after the political crisis of June 1922. Relying on the materials of the Primorye press, the author reconstructs the basic viewpoints within the politically active Primorye community. The researcher’s attention is focused on the debates in the Amur River region National Assembly in June-August 1922, which resulted in the establishment of General M. K. Diterikhs’s personal dictatorship. The paper analyses the behaviour of the National Assembly participants, their motives when making a decision, representation of these decisions in the pro-governmental press.
