NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE SOUTHERN VOLGA PROVINCES IN THE EARLY XX CENTURY (BY THE EXAMPLE OF KAMYSHIN, TSARITSYN AND DUBOVKA POSAD)

Abstract. The article deals with the economic and socio-cultural aspects of national business communities’ practices in the southern regions of Saratov province by the example of Kamyshin and Tsaritsyn districts in the period of the country modernization at the beginning of the XX century. The types and forms of the Volga Germans’, the Jews’ and the Tatars’ commercial activity are revealed. Reference materials and new archival sources introduced into scientific circulation make it possible to consider the specificity of the ethnic communities’ entrepreneurship and their religious affiliation. The authors somehow fill the existing gaps in the history of socio-cultural heritage of Volgograd region.
