THE SOVIET CENSORSHIP BODIES IN THE KOMI-PERMYAK NATIONAL DISTRICT IN THE 1920-1980S: STRUCTURE, FUNCTIONS, PERSONNEL

Abstract. The article is devoted to the poorly investigated in the Russian historiography issue: the history of the formation and development of the Soviet censorship bodies (Glavit - Main Administration for Literary and Publishing Affairs) in the Komi-Permyak national district in the 1920-1980s. Glavit bodies were an element of the political control system that functioned in the Ural region in the Soviet period. In the Komi-Permyak national district, censorship was focused on periodicals (district and regional newspapers), printed products of the local printing house, radio program scripts, repertoire materials for theatrical performances. The author believes that the problem of efficiency of the Komi-Permyak censors’ activity should be examined in the context of the national and cultural peculiarities of the region.
