EVACUATED POPULATION IN GORKY REGION (1941-1945)

Abstract. Relying on archival materials the author examines evacuation processes associated with the reception and accommodation of the evacuated population as a special social group that existed in the years of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The article evaluates the activity of the administrative bodies that provided resettlement, employment and consumer services for the evacuated people in different periods of their residence in Gorky region. Scientific originality of the study includes the use of previously unknown archival materials discovered by the author.
