Abstract. The article examines the status of the solfeggio discipline in modern China. The musical education system in China was formed on the basis of the principles and methodologies borrowed from Western Europe and Russia. The solfeggio course was initially based on musical material foreign for the Chinese people. Gradually the solfeggio course was enriched with national musical material and by the end of the XX century original methodologies had appeared. Nowadays the Chinese musical education has its own musical ear training techniques developed with the help of modern technologies.
