THEATRICAL ART ROLE IN CRIMEA SOCIAL LIFE BY THE EXAMPLE OF CHARITY (THE END OF THE XIX - THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY)

Abstract. The purpose of this scientific publication is the analysis of charitable activity in the Russian Empire illustrated by amateur and professional theatrical performances in Crimea. The retrospective of theatrical performances and cultural events with charitable purposes in pre-revolutionary Crimea is given on the basis of archival documents and materials from periodicals. The author cites the organisations, amount of donations, repertoire of theatrical parties, mechanisms of charitable contributions in order to use the historical experience in the context of the modern Russian reality.
