Abstract. The specificity of outsider art, along with isolation from artistic space, also includes acquisition and assimilation of influential discourses: political, religious and scientific ones. The article analyses the creative work and author’s narratives of the Ural outsider painter Leonid Lugovykh whose formation falls on the period of conceptual art flourishment in Yekaterinburg. The paper reveals the specificity of Leonid Lugovykh’s creative conception, analyzes the thematic content and figurative language of his drawings and the peculiarities of his scientific discourse.
