SOCIAL AND CREATIVE ACTIVITY OF V. V. OBRAZTSOV IN THE 1920-1930S

Abstract. The article examines the creative work of V. V. Obraztsov, one of the founders of the Kyrgyz professional fine art in the 1920-1930s. The researcher emphasizes the artist’s activity to promote the development of national art (establishing an artistic workshop, first drawing studios at schools and enterprises, conducting exhibitions of amateur painters, etc.). The paper reveals the artist’s contribution to the development of newspaper graphics, which played a key role in the formation of new art in the mountain region. The researcher analyses V. V. Obraztsov’s paintings representing the past and present of Kyrgyzstan.
