Abstract. In the article, on the basis of archival documents, the process of using radio as a means of political and information struggle between Japan and the USSR in the Far East in the 1930s is studied. The reasons for the use of radio for military purposes and the activity of the Japanese-Manchurian authorities in the production of radio broadcasts to the Soviet Far East are considered. The information component of the political and ideological propaganda, which was spread on the territory of the USSR, is characterized. The measures for counterpropaganda and the technical prevention of radio broadcasts from the territory of Manchuria are analyzed; the problems in their use are identified.
