ARCHAIZATION PROBLEM: SOME METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES

Abstract. The article examines the problems caused by the social transformation of the modern Russian society, which manifest themselves in the form of the society return to past social practices, typical of the previous stages of historical development. The socio-philosophical analysis of archaization processes reveals a variety of theoretical interpretations and methodological approaches to understanding this complex phenomenon. In the presented work an attempt is made to consider different perspectives of the interpretation of this process by researchers, whose works on this problem have great scientific and social significance, in order to reveal both common grounds and discrepancies between them. In our opinion, V. G. Fedotova’s conception is the most methodologically productive one due to the fact that it helps to regard archaism as one of the components of the difficult, highly contradictory process of social development, as an opportunity to avoid "social trauma" for the society experiencing reform difficulties.
