CRAFTS RELATED TO PROCESSING OF FIBER AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS IN ARZAMAS DISTRICT IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX - AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

Abstract. The article considers the non-agricultural crafts related to processing of fiber and animal products. The mentioned crafts were popular among the population of Arzamas district in the second half of the XIX century, which is testified by the researches of handicraft industry. Both natural-geographical and historical factors influenced considerably the formation of the mentioned crafts. The "Statue on State Trade Tax", which was adopted at the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century, did not have a negative impact on the analyzed branches. On the contrary, the author concludes that the changes in the normative and legal basis stimulated further development of the small-scale enterprises engaged in processing of fiber and animal products.
