Abstract. The article is devoted to identifying the peculiarities of the imaginative and stylistic system of porcelain of the Imperial Porcelain Factory of the second quarter of the XIX century; the clearly traceable elements of military esthetics were introduced in this type of decorative and applied art as the symbols of glorifying the reign of Emperor Nicholas I. The author analyzes the iconographic and iconological meaning of the porcelain paintings executed within the romantic artistic trend but conforming to the classicist tradition of glorifying the sovereign’s genius.
