CRITICAL THINKING FORMATION AS THE BASIS OF DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ LEADERSHIP QUALITIES

Abstract. The article analyzes the current trend of higher education institutions to pay special attention to the education of leaders without taking into account the possibility of unintentional cultivation of egocentrism among active students. The author tries to show the approach to students’ teaching, based on critical thinking formation, which involves implicitly the idea of developing creative leaders. In the process of the development of this type of thinking, emotional intelligence increases, cognitive distortions and egocentrism are smoothed out; skills of thinking flexibility, ability to work effectively in a team due to the refusal of personal prejudices and stereotypes are acquired.
