Evolution of educational standards for designer training in Russian higher education during the late 20th and early 21st centuries

Abstract. The author sees the aim of the article in creating a holistic picture of the formation and development of design education as exemplified by changes in educational standards in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The article provides a retrospective analysis of educational standards, which will help to form and scientifically substantiate the goal and objectives, clarify the methods and technologies of designer training at the stage of transition to the new Russian higher education system. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that the article, against the background of the democratization of public life in the historical period under consideration, provides a complex and comparative analysis of the evolution of educational standards for designer training in higher education in terms of considering their structure and content reflecting socio-economic transformations in the Russian Federation. As a result of the study, having conducted a comparative analysis of previous and current educational standards, the author concluded that it is necessary to take into account the established experience of developing standards in designer training in higher education institutions and be able to analyze the current geopolitical situation in the country and in the design industry in particular to correctly identify the key tasks facing the higher education system and understand how to prepare students in modern conditions.
