Formation of students' knowledge about legal and moral values in the activities of Interior Ministry employees in the process of role-playing

Abstract. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the importance of the introduction of role–playing games into the learning process in educational institutions of higher education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in order to focus on the formation and development of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values. The article actualizes the importance of role-playing as an interactive form of education for the formation of professional and moral knowledge of future employees of internal affairs bodies. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the development of a role-playing game scenario, which provides for in-depth consideration not only of the provisions of normative legal acts containing requirements for the official behavior of an internal affairs officer, but also discussion of issues related to the personal moral choice of certain legal and moral values based on the principles of police activity. The role-playing game was tested by students of the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia of the 1st year of the 1st semester of the 2023-2024 academic year in the specialty 40.05.02 Law Enforcement (specialty level): cadets of 6 platoons in the number of 162 people aged 16 to 19 years. As a result of the study, the variability of interpretations of the concept of "game" is presented. An example of the application of the developed role-playing game in the educational process as an interactive teaching method that contributes to the formation of cadets' knowledge about legal and moral values in the activities of police officers is given.
