Overcoming learned helplessness in the professional training of specialists for the justice system during “Russian Language and Culture of Speech” classes

Abstract. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the selected set of measures in reducing the level of learned helplessness in the professional training of specialists for the justice system during “Russian Language and Culture of Speech” classes. The paper describes the use of the interactive teaching method, traditional and online teaching tools, the system of midterm motivating assessment in the context of the professional training of specialists for the justice system. The scientific novelty of the study lies in developing a set of measures that will make it possible to reduce the level of learned helplessness when learning and using Russian as a native language. As a result, it has been proved that it is possible to neutralise the patterns of students’ learned helplessness by means of traditional teaching tools with separate online tasks, the interactive teaching method and the transition to the midterm system of motivating assessment.
