Clusters of critical thinking skills of modern high school students

Abstract. The research is aimed at the construction of the clusters of current and achievable critical thinking skills for modern high school students. The article presents the theoretical grounding of the necessity to develop critical thinking skills of modern high school students; the teachers’ expert evaluation of the possibility and attainability of critical thinking skills in education system is given. The scientific novelty lies in the scientific introduction of the clusters of critical thinking skills which unite the skills of critical review of own beliefs and decisions, the skills of critical review of external information and critical thinking in communication. As the result on the basis of the Delphi-questioning and the theoretical content analysis of the Russian concepts and practices of critical thinking development the authors defined 10 key skills of critical thinking united into three clusters: critical review of own beliefs and decisions, critical review of external information and critical thinking in communication.
