The Use of Information and Communication Technologies in the Process of Forming Vocabulary in Visually Impaired Primary Schoolchildren in the Context of Inclusive Education

Abstract. The aim of the study is to substantiate the practicability of introducing modern information and communication technologies (hereinafter referred to as ICT) to optimize the educational process when teaching the Russian language to visually impaired primary schoolchildren in conditions of inclusion. The article analyses the age-related features of vocabulary formation in primary school age, analyses the results of an empirical study of vocabulary formation level in visually impaired primary schoolchildren, substantiates the possibility of using ICT in inclusive education. The scientific novelty lies in substantiating the effectiveness of ICT as a means of vocabulary formation in visually impaired primary schoolchildren in conditions of inclusion. As a result, the levels of vocabulary formation in visually impaired primary schoolchildren and normally seeing students as well as the directions of using ICT for teaching the Russian language to visually impaired primary schoolchildren were determined.
