Competitiveness of Future Mid-Level Specialists by the Example of Specialty 40.02.01 "Law and Organization of Social Security"

Abstract. The aim of the study is to characterize the level of competitiveness of graduates from institutions of secondary vocational education in the labour market based on an assessment of their professional competence. The article studies the actual problems of training specialists in the system of secondary vocational education and ascertains the factors that hinder the increase in graduates’ competitiveness by the example of the specialty "Law and Organization of Social Security". The results of an empirical study are presented; they reveal the factors that hinder the successful employment of graduates by the example of the specialty "Law and Organization of Social Security". It is proposed to improve the methodological approaches to the training of future lawyers through their participation in professional skills championships. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time the influence of future mid-level specialists’ participation in professional skills championships on their competitiveness was ascertained. As a result, it has been proved that the process of training competitive specialists in the system of secondary vocational education requires the improvement of methodological approaches that meet the current requirements of the labour market, and needs legal regulation by the state.
