Students’ Toponymic Literacy Formation Based on a Linguogeographical Passport, a Linguoregional Portrait and a Linguocultural Biography of a Regional Toponymic Object

Abstract. The research aims to present a technology of students’ toponymic literacy formation aimed at developing the ability to navigate in the geographical, cultural and linguistic space of regional toponymic objects. The paper describes sample models for compiling a linguogeographical passport, a linguoregional portrait and a linguocultural biography of a toponym as the key means for forming students’ toponymic literacy in the educational process. Scientific novelty of the work lies in integrating geographical, cultural and linguistic fields in the study of geographical objects and their names by high school students during project and research activities. The result of the research is a technology of students’ toponymic literacy formation based on the use of sample models for compiling a linguogeographical passport, a linguoregional portrait and a linguocultural biography of a regional toponymic object.
