Technique to Correct Middle-Grade Pupils’ Phonetic Mistakes in English Classes

Abstract. The research objective includes developing a technique to correct secondary school pupils’ phonetic mistakes in the process of the English language teaching. The paper considers specificity when correcting middle-grade pupils’ phonetic mistakes. The authors analyse peculiarities of teaching the English phonetics, systematize difficulties arising in the process of phonetic skills acquisition, describe methodological techniques to prevent and correct phonetic mistakes. Scientific originality of the study involves introducing an effective technique to correct phonetic mistakes that allows improving children’s cognitive-communicative activity in the English classes. The research findings can be successfully applied when teaching English to middle-grade pupils.
