Using Lexical Approach when Forming Linguistic Students’ Foreign-Language Communicative Competence

Abstract. The article describes a model to form foreign-language communicative competence on the basis of the lexical approach. The proposed model is a clear algorithm of working with an English-language text while forming linguistic students’ foreign-language lexical competence. Efficient techniques for teaching vocabulary and word compatibility are proposed. The practice of using the lexical approach in the English language teaching is described, the potential of this approach while forming foreign-language lexical competence is revealed.
