EDUCATOR V. N. SOROKA-ROSINSKY AND HIS PEDAGOGICAL HERITAGE

Abstract. The article is devoted to the outstanding Russian educator Victor Nikolaevich Soroka-Rosinsky (1882-1960). The paper provides his biographical data, characterizes comprehensively his practical pedagogical activity, and analyses his most important theoretical works. Special attention is paid to the period when Soroka-Rosinsky worked as a director of the educational institution known as "The School named after F. M. Dostoevsky" (ShKID). In this connection, the researcher provides A. S. Makarenko’s commentaries on the ShKID based on the book written by its former pupils G. G. Belykh and A. I. Yeremeev; the researcher draws an analogy with another once popular pedagogical book - "Last Gymnasium". It is emphasized that V. N. Soroka-Rosinsky was selflessly devoted to the education of the younger generation.
