Abstract. The article substantiates the need for the introduction of digital educational innovations in higher school teaching process. Attention is paid to one of important approaches to specialists’ training at higher school - transition to a "blended model" of training, which combines and interpenetrates full-time and e-learning with the opportunity for students to choose time, place, pace and trajectory of studying independently. The innovative advantages of the Moodle virtual learning environment are highlighted. By the example of the author’s e-learning course "Basics of Mathematical Information Processing", the interactive possibilities of e-learning are considered, which contribute to enhancing higher school students’ independent work.
