INCREASING MOTIVATION TO LEARN FRENCH AMONG STUDENTS OF NON-LINGUISTIC SPECIALTIES AT MOSCOW STATE INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of motivating students of non-linguistic specialties to study French at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). The paper deals with the notions "motive" and "motivation", "external motivation" and "internal motivation". For this study the authors use: the observation method to determine the difficulties faced by teachers and students in the study of the French language, as well as the method of questioning students to examine the motivation of the latter. The work also provides the ways to increase students’ motivation to learn French.
