Abstract. The article analyzes the issues associated with the manifestation of the category of style in piano pedagogy. Interpreting style as dialectic integrity of the figurative semantic system and the means of expressiveness the author emphasizes such aspect of pedagogical work as teaching stylistic adequacy. The paper describes traditional methods and proposes innovative techniques providing qualitative growth of students-pianists’ professional competence. Theoretical provisions are supplemented by examples from piano compositions.
