Abstract. The article considers the problem of studying the phenomenon of smile in the native and studied linguistic cultures in the context of intercultural education for future bachelors of linguistics - foreign language teachers. The comparison of the use of smile and attitude to it in native and studied linguistic cultures allows understanding some of the features that are typical of one or another national character.
