PHILOSOPHICAL METHODOLOGY USE IN EXPERT STUDIES OF RELIGION: HISTORICAL- PHILOSOPHICAL AND EPISTEMOLOGICAL ASPECTS

Abstract. The article is devoted to a review of the philosophical methodological tools adapted for the expert studies of religion. The main focus is on the sociological component of religious studies with the goal of developing a universal methodology in the field of sociology of religion at the intersection of social philosophy, sociology, political science and jurisprudence. Within the framework of the formation of a single methodology, the advantages of the critical thinking style are substantiated, the techniques of combining institutional and value approaches are analyzed, and the most appropriate logics of thinking are reviewed. Also, considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the architectural orders of a religious organization. In conclusion, the authors present a set of methodological tools, the most expedient in the researchers’ opinion, for the expert study of religion.
