ORTHODOXY IMAGE IN SOVIET AND RUSSIAN CULTURE OF THE XX - THE BEGINNING OF THE XXI CENTURY

Abstract. The article analyzes the functioning of the religion image in the Soviet and post-Soviet culture, in media-space. The authors propose their own interpretation of the religion image, trace the development of this image in the domestic culture. The paper shows how the representation of the religion image (and, later on, the media-image) in the Russian culture changed over the decades, in the years of struggle against religion and in the post-Soviet time. The paper analyzes media-texts of the second half of the XX century (literary and publicistic texts, movies, broadcasts) and of modernity (including Internet space). The special emphasis is made on self-presentation of the representatives of Orthodoxy in cultural texts and media-texts.
