GENDER AND RELIGION AS FACTORS OF ETHNIC IDENTIFICATION

Abstract. The article examines the conceptions "identification" and "ethnic identification". Ethnic identification is interpreted as the most stable form of social identity. The author presents factors influencing the ethnic identification process, analyzes the problem of ethnic identification differentiation depending on gender differences. The paper shows the role of religion in formation of women’s and men’s ethnic identity as one of the most important factors.
