Abstract. The article reconstructs ethical content of the work by the Russian existential philosopher N. A. Berdyaev "Destiny of Man. Experience of Paradoxical Ethics". The authors conclude that N. A. Berdyaev’s doctrine of good and evil is based on the theodicy problem. The paper shows correlation of the "good", "evil" and "freedom" categories, identifies differences between "meonic" and rational freedom. Considering three types of ethical systems identified by N. A. Berdyaev the authors describe specific characteristics of the mentioned categories (in the context of ethics of law, grace, creativity).
