M. A. BYCHKOV’S BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS: PECULIARITIES OF THE ILLUSTRATION OF THE FAIRY TALE

Abstract. The article is devoted to works of M. A. Bychkov, Petersburg artist and book designer, and to the analysis of peculiarities of his illustrations for fairy tales published in the 1980-90s. Formation of methods of illustration in accordance with the content and nature of the literary work, the director’s approach to structuring the book ensemble became distinctive features of M. A. Bychkov’s art. Particular attention is paid to consideration of the peculiar game of artistic forms reinforcing depth of impression when perceiving the book as a whole.
