IDEA OF "LAW" AND TASK OF MODERNIZATION OF THE RUSSIAN SOCIETY

Abstract. The article deals with different approaches to understanding law in the Russian philosophical and scientific tradition (especially of the end of the XIX - the XX century). The role of legal ideas in interpretation and construction of meanings of phenomena of social reality is studied. Particular attention is paid to the issue of how different understanding of law affects content and meaning of modernization process, its goals and objectives. As a subject of the research, legal views of representatives of the traditionalist trend of the Russian social thought (Slavophiles, conservatives, narodniks), natural-legal conceptions of the Russian philosophy of law, B. N. Chicherin’s legal ideas are taken.
