FIGURATIVE-SYMBOLIC USE OF LIGHT IN THE RUSSIAN FUTURISTIC THEATER

Abstract. The article is devoted to a topical and little studied issue - the analysis of experiments with stage light at the Russian futuristic theater of the beginning of the XX century. Various approaches to lighting both in projects, which were not staged and are preserved in the form of descriptions, and performances that took place are considered. On the basis of available sources, the lighting plots of the performance "The Mansion Actions" of the Union of the Youth, as well as the productions of the first futuristic theater - "Tragedy. Vladimir Mayakovsky" and the opera "Victory over the Sun" - are reconstructed.
