DYNAMICS OF RAILWAY WOMEN NUMBERS IN THE RUSSIAN EMPIRE (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE SIBERIAN RAILWAY)

Abstract. In the article dynamics of the numbers of female workers at the railways of Siberia at the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century is analyzed. For this purpose, statistical data on the number, percentage, positions occupied by women are provided. The conclusion about the all-Russian tendency (Siberian, in particular) to gradually expand the scope of application of female labor, to increase the number of female employees, which was conditioned by the needs of the railway industry, is drawn.
