STYLE PECULIARITIES OF S. PROKOFIEV’S PIANO SONATA № 3 IN THE CONTEXT OF EARLY CREATIVE WORK

Abstract. The performer’s analysis of Prokofiev’s Piano Sonata № 3 is conducted in the context of socio-psychological atmosphere of the beginning of the XX century and the theurgic art conception. The paper emphasizes the composer’s tendency to introduce a new approach to musical texture: sound, interval, chord. Specificity of young Prokofiev’s piano style - "Scythian element", prevalence of rhythmic component, toccata style, movement, dominance of energy, spurt over lyrical melodiousness - is considered in the aspect of forming typical features of his creative personality: inexhaustible optimism, self-confidence, self-sufficiency and influence of the Silver Age esthetics.
