Abstract. The article analyzes H. Gadamer’s hermeneutics in the context of philosophical problems of socio-liberal cognition. The author identifies theoretical innovations of Gadamer’s ontological hermeneutics concerning interpretation of the problem of correlation of natural sciences and the humanities. The paper examines the basic postulates of Gadamer’s hermeneutic conception, evaluates its methodological value, discovers possibilities for constructive use of philosophical hermeneutics conceptions in social studies.
