METHOD OF VARIABLE CALCULUS AS APPLIED TO SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE

Abstract. In the article identity of goals of mathematics and metaphysics of the Modern Era by the example of one of the mathematical discoveries of R. Descartes - variable calculus - is shown. The need to combine goals of these sciences is conditioned, in particular, by special attitude towards nature, which acquired a predicate of variability in the Modern Era. The author is interested in the method of variable calculus and demonstrates that it is used not only in mathematics, but is applied to scientific knowledge in general, providing a possibility of theoretical work with variability of nature.
