CULTURAL AND AESTHETIC COMPONENTS IN DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN TOWNS

Abstract. In the article the main urban development strategies in the modern world are considered, the role of cultural and aesthetic components in development of contemporary urban space is studied. In this regard, approaches of today’s researchers-urbanists are systematized, as well as positive and negative consequences of urban cultural transformations that affect the lives and worldview of urban residents are analyzed. The author substantiates a thesis that the modern town and its environment are a result of transformations generated by "experience economy".
