DEVELOPMENT POTENTIAL OF SMALL TOWNS IN VOLOGDA REGION (SOCIAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL ASPECT)

Abstract. The article is devoted to identification of development potential of small towns in Vologda region. On the basis of the systemic and dialectical methods and the results of an empirical research, the author conducts a socio-philosophical analysis of economic and socio-cultural potential of small towns in Vologda region and comes to the conclusion that there are opportunities for future self-development of urban space. Natural and labor resources, the favorable ecological situation, aesthetic characteristics, and the historical and cultural sights are singled out as the main components of the cumulative potential.
