Abstract. In the article a philosophical analysis of the problem of cultural value of parascience is carried out. Ontological and existential meaning of parascientific myths is revealed. Heuristic value of parascientific teachings is identified. Interrelation between parascience and such form of art as folklore, and such genre as fantasy is considered. Relation of parascience to postmodernism is ascertained. The role of parascience in contemporary mass culture is analyzed. The author comes to the conclusion that parascience is capable of having a significant impact on development of culture and determining its main trends.
