Abstract. The article analyzes N. A. Berdyaev’s discussion with his contemporaries on vital, burning issues concerning Russia’s future. Special attention is paid to the role and place of monarchy in the history of the Russian state and its relations with the Orthodox Church. The paper touches on the problem of perception of Russian revolution and Bolshevism. The subjects of this discussion are still relevant.
