ORIGIN OF TECTONICITY: MALTA NEOLITHIC TEMPLES

Abstract. The article examines origin of tectonicity in Malta Neolithic temples. This problem involves a semantic and structural analysis of integrity of purpose, material, construction, esthetics and composition of Malta ancient pagan temples. The author justifies a hypothesis on evidence of tectonicity fundamental principles in the most ancient examples of Neolithic architecture. Relying on the findings the researcher describes forms, material and constructions, identifies volume-spatial composition, coloristics.
