IMPORTANCE OF THE FILM "SPIES" (1928) FOR DEVELOPMENT OF FRITZ LANG’S ARTISTIC WORLD

Abstract. The article examines ideological-artistic features of the film "Spies" by Fritz Lang. The authors pay special attention to the structural elements that bring the film closer to the previous work of the director "Metropolis". Reasons for appeal of the film creators to artistic techniques, typical of early cinema expressionism, are analyzed. The researchers substantiate a thesis that creation of the film was an important stage in development of Lang’s creative manner.
