Abstract. The article examines the conception of the individualistic type of society. Theoretical foundations of individualism laid in antiquity are considered. The author analyzes historical types of societies according to Hegel’s conception, compares the individualistic and collectivist types of society. The work shows interconnection of private property and the individualistic society formation, and proves that the individualistic society asserts itself by means of imposing his/her will by every individual. The individual’s freedom and predominance of private property are basic criteria for the individualistic society formation.
