ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITY OF THE TATARS IN THE FORMATION OF TRADE RELATIONS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND CHINA IN THE XVIII - AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XIX CENTURY

Abstract. The article considers the reasons for the move of the Tatars to Northwestern China. The author emphasizes the role of the Tatar merchants in the development and strengthening of trade and economic relations between Russia and China. A brief description of the diplomatic and trade ties between the two states is given. Particular attention is paid to how the Tatars managed to concentrate trade and intermediary activity with one of the Chinese regions in their hands, and also to form the Tatar diaspora.
